Fiber Optic illumination is used with an external light source (usually halogen or metal halide) in an enclosure with a fiber optic light guide to take the light to the target. Fiber optic systems have the advantage of being able to deliver a great amount of light onto the target without exposing the target to direct heat. There are various adapter solutions for different applications.
