Light Sources

Illumination is an often overlooked area within machine vision. Very often, the quality of the image obtained from a vision system can be vastly improved with the use of a well chosen illumination system. This can, in the long run, reduce system costs by eliminating the need for more complicated image analysis procedures and thereby producing more consistent results. Light sources are an important component supplying the image with spectral content, intensity, temporal resolution and life expectancy or longevity.
